          • EXCHANGE OF STUDENTS IN CANILLAS, SPAIN

             From May 11 to 18, 2024. an exchange of students of Primary School No. 13 in Zawiercie, Poland with the CEIP Virgen de la Cabeza in Canillas de Aceitunokn, Spain took place. During their stay in Spain, Polish students visited the partner school and had the opportunity to observe classes taking place there. They participated in chemistry workshops, conducting numerous experiments, IT workshops on 3D printing and robotics workshops. During field activities, they took photos of plants and animals typical of Andalusia and created online albums. They solved geographical tasks as well as those related to other science subjects. They visited Malaga, Granada and Ronda, learning about Spanish cultural heritage, traditions and history. There were also sports activities in Torre del Mar - students tried their hand at kayaking under the supervision of instructors. During their stay, they were accommodated with partner families, thanks to which they had the opportunity to improve their English and exchange experiences.

            FIELD ACTIVITIES - GEOGRAPHICAL TASKS

            While visiting Torre del Mar, the students' task wias to walk the route from Fuente de la Solidaridad to FuenteVirgen del Carmen, performing several tasks.

            SCHOOL EXPERIMENT WORKSHOP

            Various experiments were carried out with different chemical components. 

            IT CLASSES

            During IT classes the students  designed objects for 3D prnting. They cooperated in international teams.

            ROBOTICS WORKSHOPS

             

            PLANTS & ANIMALS OF ANDALUSIA

            While hiking in the mountains, the students were taking photos of plants and animals typical for Andalusia. In international teams they prepared  albums: “Plants of Andalusia’ and “Animals of Andalusia”. There was a discussion on the difference between Polish and Spanish nature.

            TECHNOLOGY AND ART  IN ANDALUSIA

            While visiting, the students took photos of scientific and technological objects or monuments/exhibits connected with science and technology.

            CORRIDA

            Getting to know the history of corrida;. What is corrida de toros? Corrida de toros – Spanish tradition or animal abuse? - discussion. The students presented adventages and disadventages of Corrida.

             

            THE EXCHANGE IN POLAND

            Visit of Spanish students in Poland

            From April 7 to 11, 2025, Primary School No. 13 in Zawiercie hosted students and teachers from the CEIP Virgen de la Cabeza partner school from Canillas de Aceituno in Spain. Spanish students, together with Polish students, took part in physics, computer science and dance workshops. Together, they demonstrated experiments showing the laws of physics, created posters and learned national dances of both countries. The Polish school received a gift in the form of seeds of plants typical of the Malaga region to plant in the school garden. While learning about Polish cultural heritage, the Spanish guests visited the Wieliczka Salt Mine, Oświęcim, Krakow and Zakopane.

            SCIENTIFIC EXPERIMENTS

            Polish and Spanish students did together different kinds of experiments demonstrating the laws of physiscs.

            SEEDS FOR THE SCHOOL GARDEN

            As a thoughtful gesture, the Polish school was presented with seeds of plant species native to the Malaga region. These seeds will be sown in the school garden, allowing students to observe and care for Mediterranean flora as part of their educational activities.

            The exchange in Poland was evaluated and certificates was handed in to the participants.

            EXCHANGE OF STUDENTS IN POLAND

            POLISH AND PORTUGUESE STUDENTS

             

            From 17 to 21 March 2025, an exchange of students from Primary School No. 13 in Zawiercie took place with the Portuguese school Escola Básica dos 2.º e 3.º Ciclos do Caniço, Madeira, Portugal. Portuguese students and teachers visited the Polish school and participated in scientific workshops aimed at developing their interests in the field of natural sciences. They also had the opportunity to learn the Polish national dance - polonaise, as well as other popular dances together.  Portuguese students and teachers took part in coin minting. They received two commemorative coins - golden and silver with the logo of the Polish school. An integral part of the exchange was the opportunity to familiarize with Polish cultural heritage. The students visited Oświęcim, where they toured the former Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp, which allowed them to deeply understand the tragic events of World War II and strengthen their sense of responsibility for historical memory. The next point on the program was Zakopane, known for the beautiful nature of the Tatra Mountains and highlander culture. The students had the opportunity to see traditional highlander cottages, listen to highlander music and try regional dishes, such as oscypek. The next point was a visit to one of the oldest and most famous salt mines in the world - the Wieliczka Salt Mine. The students toured underground corridors, chambers and chapels, admiring extraordinary works of art made of salt. This unique experience allowed the program participants to better understand Polish history and the importance of this place for the development of the country. During the exchange, a visit to Krakow, one of the most beautiful and historic cities in Poland, could not be missed. The students visited Wawel, the Old Town, the Cloth Hall and other important places that are a testimony to Polish tradition and culture. This city, full of history, legends and extraordinary monuments, became the ideal background for the further integration of Polish and Portuguese students.

            The mobility to Poland was evaluated and the certificates of attendance were handed in to the participants.
