          • Meeting with a Forester from the Siewierz Forest District in the Polish school

The forester, Mr. Zbigniew, presented basic information about the forests in our region and the habits of the animals that inhabit them. The students learned about the species of trees growing in our nearby forests and the types of animals that can be found there. During the lecture, we also discussed how to behave properly when encountering a wild boar, bear, or wolf in the forest — animals that are increasingly being observed in the forests of our municipality.
During the meeting, the students gained a lot of valuable information about the nature of a forester’s work, which is particularly fascinating due to the opportunity to interact with nature on a daily basis.

            CLEAN UP DAY IN POLAND

As every year, the school community of “Thirteen” (Primary School No. 13) took part in the 32nd edition of the “Clean Up the World – Poland” campaign.

Students and teachers  eagerly joined this nationwide ecological initiative, aiming to make our surroundings cleaner and more beautiful. Equipped with gloves and bags, they collected litter from the school area, nearby streets, and green spaces. The event was not only an opportunity to take care of the environment but also a valuable lesson in responsibility and respect for nature. By participating in the campaign, our students learned that even small actions can have a big impact on the planet.

The Experimental High School of Rhodes - University of the Aegean sends a message of hope and action for the Environment.

During October 2025, the Hellenic Society for the Protection of Nature and WWF Greece carried out environmental actions a few days before the COP30 conference (Conference of Parties, Brazil, November 10-21, 2025) with the participation of world leaders to address the climate crisis. The actions aim to make the voices of students from all over Greece heard at this international meeting.

Students from all grades of the Experimental High School of Rhodes – University of the Aegean actively participated by sending their own message to the leaders of the Earth. They wrote letters in Greek and English, expressing their thoughts, concerns, and suggestions for protecting the planet, and accompanied them with drawings that reflect their vision for a sustainable world. Their messages were sent to the Prime Minister of Greece and the President of the COP30 Conference as an expression of their hope for meaningful action against the climate crisis.

The children's message is clear: "The Earth needs all of us to take care of it now!" The action was coordinated by the teachers in charge of the Eco-Environmental Club.

            ECO-ADVISOR IN POLAND

Third-grade students took part in a special presentation on the occasion of Tree Day, led by an Eco-Advisor from the Environmental Protection Department in Zawiercie. The meeting aimed to introduce the youngest learners to the importance of trees in human life and in nature, as well as to encourage them to care for the environment.

During the event, the students learned how trees grow, why they are essential for our lives, and what benefits they bring to people and the natural world. The Eco-Advisor explained that trees produce oxygen, purify the air, provide shade, wood, fruits, and shelter for many species of animals. The children also learned about record-breaking trees in the plant world—the tallest tree on Earth, the coast redwood, and the largest by volume: the giant sequoia known as “General Sherman.” Fascinating facts and engaging stories kept the students highly interested throughout the event.

At the end, an ecological quiz was held, allowing the students to test the knowledge they had gained during the presentation. Afterwards, in the spirit of caring for the planet, the children planted shrubs on the school grounds. This shared activity not only offered a practical opportunity to act for the environment but also taught the students cooperation, responsibility, patience, and respect for nature. This event was an excellent example of how environmental education can combine learning with action and the joy of creating something good for our planet. Thanks to initiatives like this, students learn that every—even the smallest—gesture matters for the future of the Earth.
