EXCHANGE IN POLAND
Primary School No. 13 in Zawiercie & Agrupamento de Escolas de Aljustrel
School activities
From 26th May to 1st April 2023. teachers and students of Agrupamento de Escolas de Aljustrel from Portugal visited Primary School no 13 in Zawiercie. The students of both schools participated in art workshops, creating posters "Europe of the future". They also took part in dance workshops, during which they danced together the following dances: "Polonaise", „Kaczuszki”, "Belgijka", "Chocolate" and Macarena". During the math workshops, the students measured the gym, solving the related tasks. Portuguese teachers observed the lesson of mathematics as well as participated in the meeting of the Mathematics and Science Team. As a souvenir of their stay in Poland, Portuguese teachers and students minted coins, the so-called "Thirteen" which have become a tradition in the Polish school.
Cultural visits
The guests visited the most important places and monuments of Polish culture, such as: Wieliczka, Zakopane, Oświęcim and Kraków, learning about Polish history and traditions. A great attraction was also the participation in the volleyball match of the Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie team, which their their Portuguese compatriot- Miguel Tavares plays in.

EXCHANGE IN PORTUGAL
Primary School No. 13 in Zawiercie & Agrupamento de Escolas de Aljustrel
From 6th to 13th May 2023. a group of students Primary School No. 13 in Zawiercie with the teachers visited a partner school from Portugal - Agrupamento de Escolas de Aljustrel - as part of the student exchange. The students and teachers participated in activities at school and otdoors. They solved mathematical problems, improving their knowledge and skills in the field of mathematics. They learned about Portuguese cultural heritage, history and art through numerous activities, visits and workshops. They visited the most important monuments and places of Lisbon, Aljustrel, Porto Covo, Villa Nova de Milfontes, Albufeira, Algavre, Monsaraz and Evora.
During the field activities in Lisbon, students solved mathematical tasks: marking and signing the directions of the world, map orientation, photo analysis, determining the place where the photo was taken, marking parallel segments on a characteristic mosaic; checking whether lines intersect at right, acute or obtuse angles; determining the geometric figure of a quadrilateral; measuring the width and length of the Commercial Square in Lisbon (Plac Comercio), calculating the perimeter and area, designing your own geometric pattern. Polish students and teachers visited a Portuguese school, there were integration classes and a presentation of the Portuguese education system. They observed math lessons. During math workshops, they moved around the school, solving tasks and problems that stimulated logical thinking and creativity. During outdoor activities, they visited Aljustrel, learning about the history, traditions and culture of the town. They counted steps using an iPhone app and converted them to metres and kilometres. During field activitiesin Porto Covo, they solved a mathematical problem related to fishing. Visiting Evora, they learned about the history, monuments and culture of Portugal. They counted the distance from point A to point B and the walking speed. In Monsaraz, they interviewed a townsman about olive oil production, solved a math problem related to olive oil. Fieldwork in Algavre was an opportunity to learn about Portuguese geography, history, architecture and economy. Mathematics classes were held - students measured air temperature; calculated the average temperature and amplitude, presented the temperature changes on a graph. They checked the occurrence of vertical movements of sea water. During classes at school, they discussed the similarities and differences in teaching and learning methods in Portugal and Poland. There were IT and technology workshops: hacking toys and in the field of robotics, certificates of participation in the exchange were handed out.
MATH TASK IN PORTO COVO& EVORA
During the exchange in Portugal, Polish students had the opportunity to interview an olive grower from the largest olive growing region in the country, Alentejo. They learnt some interesting facts about olive oil.
EXCHANGE OF STUDENTS IN POVOA DE VARZIM
From 4th to 11th June 2023 a group of students and teachers from the Polish school took part in an exchange with the partner school Agrupamento de Escolas Aver-o-Mar in Portugal. They visited the partner school and participated in classes. They also created mind maps "What do you know about us?" The Portuguese education system was presented. There were math classes in geometry and Rover TI Instruments. . During the mathematical workshops, they created geometric solids. They programmed the robots using the Texas Instruments “ROVER TI” graphing calculator. They solved mathematical tasks, including: searching for solids on historic objects, calculating the height of a monument based on the shadow, determining a right angle outside, building Pythagorean and Egyptian triangles from strings, building sand solids and calculating their volume. They participated in surfing and sailing workshops.
They visited Póvoa de Varzim, interviewing a resident about Portuguese customs, traditions and way of life. They visited the most important Portuguese places and monuments: Porto, Braga, the sanctuary of Bom Jesus do Monte. They learned about the history of cork and winemaking as well as Portuguese history, art and culture. A farewell dinner was held during which the students and teachers had the opportunity to taste Portuguese dishes, and certificates confirming participation in the mobility were handed out.
